· 3 min read

The employer covers the first fourteen days, after which ČSSZ (Czech Social Security Administration) takes over. We explain the calculation, the e-sick note system, and the most common employee questions.
The employer pays for the first 14 days
Wage compensation is calculated from average earnings reduced by statutory thresholds and is paid only for working days or scheduled shifts.
The e-sick note has streamlined the process
The employer receives notifications about the start and end of temporary incapacity for work electronically. You no longer need paper certificates from the employee.
What employees ask about most frequently
Permitted walking hours during sick leave, carer's allowance (ošetřovné), and sickness overlapping with paid annual leave. We provide our clients with simple response templates that can be shared directly with employees.
