Annual Financial Statements Step by Step: A Complete Checklist for Czech s.r.o. Companies
· 3 min read

Physical inventory, estimated accruals, depreciation, and publication in the Collection of Deeds. Review the comprehensive checklist of tasks most frequently overlooked during the financial year-end closing.
Physical Stocktake and Document Verification Are Not Merely a Formality
Conducting a physical and documentary inventory of assets, stock, receivables, and liabilities is mandatory. A missing stocktake report (inventarizační zápis) is one of the most common deficiencies identified during tax and statutory audits.
Accruals, Deferrals, and Estimated Items
Revenues and expenses must be allocated to the financial period to which they substantively relate. Utilities, rent, insurance premiums, or employee bonuses must therefore be correctly accrued or deferred; otherwise, your operating profit or loss will not reflect financial reality.
Publishing Financial Statements in the Collection of Deeds
Limited liability companies (společnost s ručením omezeným – s.r.o.) are legally required to file their financial statements with the Collection of Deeds (sbírka listin) of the Commercial Register. Failure to do so can result in a fine of up to 3% of total asset value, yet thousands of companies forget this statutory obligation every year.
