Setting Up a Czech s.r.o. Step by Step: Costs, Deadlines, and Common Pitfalls

Preparation and the Notary
You will need a company name, a registered office with the property owner's formal consent, business activities, and executive directors (jednatelé). The notary will draw up the deed of incorporation (zakladatelská listina / společenská smlouva) and can nowadays also register the company directly into the Obchodní rejstřík (Czech Commercial Register).
How Much It Actually Costs
For a standard setup, total costs including the notary, trade licences (živnostenské oprávnění), and administrative fees typically amount to a few thousand CZK. The registered share capital can legally be as little as 1 CZK, although we generally recommend setting a higher amount.
Registrations After Incorporation
Within 15 days of incorporation, you must register for corporate income tax with the Finanční úřad (Czech Tax Office), as well as for VAT or employer taxes if applicable. We arrange this part automatically for our clients as part of our corporate setup service.
